Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. A businessman sits in the plaza of the Midwest Federal building, probably reading the Star or Tribune. In 1970, the papers had a circulation of half a million readers, and their influence on the cultural dialogue was enormous. Everything we find in the details of these photographs—new architecture, construction projects, movies, concerts and shows, social issues, cultural events—registered some sort of official comment in the pages of the city’s morning and evening newspapers.
